“Shmini” – and the Passover week – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, April 16th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for an two-part look at this week’s Torah portion, associated with both “Shmini,” (Lev. 9-11) and the issues surrounding the week of Pesach/Passover.

This time the Erev Shabbat overview includes the story of Aaron’s sons Nadav and Abihu, their offering of “strange fire,” and subsequent deaths, as well as the necessity to discern the difference between the clean and the unclean.

SSM Shmini 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week starts with the importance of that discernment — between the “holy” and downright abominably “profane” — and explores the reason why “Easter” can NOT be pleasing to Him, whether we feel good about pagan traditions or not.  Turns it, it really IS a matter of “life and death.”

Mark Call – “Ki Tasa”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, March 19th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for an two-part look at this week’s Torah portion (parsha “Ki Taso”, Exodus 30:11-34:35) which includes one of the most important “turning points” in all of Scripture – the ‘golden calf’.

As usual, the Erev Shabbat summary tells the story in detail, along with some of the key connections to the ‘rest of the Book’.

SSM Ki Tasa 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week perhaps even “pulls fewer punches” than usual, because the idolatry of the golden calf arguably pales in comparison to much of churchianity today. But it’s the other ‘parallels’ that REALLY should serve as a “sign of the times.”

“Golden calves, many gods, and other Really Big Lies”

“Bo” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, February 5th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for another two-part look at this week’s Torah portion, which completes the story of the final three plagues in Mitzraim (Egypt) and, perhaps even more importantly, what we are commanded to know, teach, and DO — forever.

The Erev Shabbat teaching makes the point, again, that Scripture emphasizes repeatedly, and why:

SSM Bo 2017

During the Sabbath Day teaching, it’s time for another look at the ‘times and seasons,’ and what the perhaps-soon-coming plagues might look like, given what we’ve seen.

“V’zot HaBracha” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, October 23rd, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “V’zot Ha Bracha” (Deuteronomy chapter 33 through the End of the Book).

  • Note: These are available every Shabbat during the on-line services at 6:30 PM Mountain Time, and the Sabbath Day teaching broadcast live via links in both Paltalk and Shoutcheap.

The Erev Shabbat includes not only the last two chapters of the Torah, but a bit of interesting ‘tradition’ as well, in that the last parsha is sometimes read along with the Beginning, too, starting with Genesis/Bereshiet chapter 1.

SSM V’zot HaBracha 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching wraps up the Torah, and the Fall Feasts with some observations about where we are now, “on the cusp”, and how the corresponding readings from both Joshua chapter 1 and the Ezekiel 38-39 war might apply:

“V’zot Ha Bracha – and Kazakh! Especially now…”

“Nitzavim” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, October 2nd, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “Nitzavim” (Deuteronomy 29:10 – 30:20).

Note: These are available every Shabbat during the on-line services at 6:30 PM Mountain Time, and the Sabbath Day teaching broadcast live via links in both Paltalk and Shoutcheap

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching this week is another one that just seems to literally “set Mark off” — because it is not only one of THE most important “two-word summaries” of Scripture in the Torah, but because it so clearly rebuts some of the biggest lies we have been told!

SSM Nitzavim 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching is literally a matter of life and death.  And, we are standing today, “on the cusp,” a time to choose life!

You are STANDING on the CUSP…now, like never before…so Choose Life!

“Re’eh” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, September 5th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “Re’eh” (Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17).

  • Note: These are available every Shabbat during the on-line services at 6:30 PM Mountain Time, and the Sabbath Day teaching broadcast live via links in both Paltalk and Shoutcheap.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching this week again emphasizes what He does: Because you are obedient, these things will come to pass! But He again emphasizes that it is vital that we “shemar”, or “hear AND obey” His statutes, judgments, commandments, and instruction.

SSM Re-eh 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching – like the parsha – begins with the admonition: Behold! See! Check it out! Open your eyes! And that is every bit as important now as it has ever been.

It’s downright amazing to think that there are people who would deny just how deep the true idolatry in Amerika, and the whole Greater Babylon Metro Area, goes. But Big Brother is just another in a long historic train of false Big Fake Gods. And as the deception deepens, the CHOICE of Who we serve remains OURS.

Behold! The Choice!

“V’etchanan” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, August 22nd, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “V’etchanan” (Deuteronomy 3:23-7:11).

  • Note: These are available every Shabbat during the on-line services at 6:30 PM Mountain Time, and the Sabbath Day teaching broadcast live via links in both Paltalk and Shoutcheap.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching this week emphasizes what He does: that we are to hear and obey and keep and DO His “statutes, judgments, and commandments”.

SSM V’etchanan 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching begins with the concept that THIS parsha is arguably THE single teaching from the Torah that might be called the “GoTo Parsha” for those who ask key questions as they attempt to “come out of” the world’s Whore Church.
“Keep My commandments – and DO!”

“Matot/Masei” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, August 8th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha ‘double-portion,’ “Matot/Masei” (Numbers chapter 30 through the end of the Book).

Note: These are available every Shabbat during the on-line services at 6:30 PM Mountain Time, and the Sabbath Day teaching broadcast live via links in both Paltalk and Shoutcheap. (see links page)

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching this week begins one of most important admonitions in Scripture — especially when, as now, it is so widely violated: DO all that proceeds out of your mouth; keep your vows. Can you IMAGINE what a land like that might look like?

SSM Matot/Masei 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching attempts to connect a WHOLE lot of dots! The foundations ARE being destroyed. Vows no longer mean, well, squat. What are the ‘righteous’ to do?
“Vows, Farce, and the Chosen Delusions”

“Shelach Lekha” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, July 3rd, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “Beha’alotcha” (Numbers chapter 13 through 15).

  • Note:  These are available every Shabbat during the on-line services at 6:30 PM Mountain Time, and the Sabbath Day teaching broadcast live via links in both Paltalk and Shoutcheap.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching includes the story of another one of the most difficult incidents in the Torah, as well as the first recorded attempt at “democracy” in recorded history.  It is a tough lesson, but one that remains vital to our understanding today:

Shelach 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching combines elements from at least two disparate, but very much related, turning points in history:

the story of the ‘spies’ and the First Recorded Vote in history,

and the signing of the Declaration of Independence,

both of them arguably even more crucial today than ever:

“Why not believe Him?”

“Beha’alotcha” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, June 26th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “Beha’alotcha” (Numbers chapter 8 through 12).

This week’s parsha marks another clear “turning point” in Scripture. Like the story from the Garden of Eden in Genesis chapter 3, or the story of the ‘golden calf’ at Mount Sinai, it’s a time of leaving, and people being people – again.

The Erev Shabbat total overview again covers the “whole story” – from lighting of the lamps on the menorah laying hands on the Levites, through the story of Aaron, and Miriam’s tzaraas to why Moses just isn’t like other prophets.

Behalotcha 2016

But it’s the issue of prophecy – then and now – and the ‘turning points’ that we face — again, then and now — that go ‘front and center’ during the Sabbath day teaching:

Tests of character – or – what constitutes a ‘prophet of YHVH’?
