“Vayechi”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the parsha in the Book of Bereshiet/Genesis – “Vayechi”. (Parsha “Vayechi,” Genesis 47:28 through the end).

The Erev Shabbat overview concludes with first the end of the life of Yakov, and his blessings to both Ephraim and Manasseh, and then the other sons forming the “twelve tribes,” followed by the end of Yosef as well:

The Sabbath Day teaching this week looks at the end of the Book of Genesis, the prophetic blessings of the sons of Yakov, and what might even be called “post-Genesis GAP theory” —
just how did they end up in that kind of bondage anyway?

And can we see how elements that resulted in the northern kingdom (divided Israel) both splitting from Judah, and then ending in bondage and exile, ought to look so incredibly familiar.
