“On the eighth [shmini] day…” all KINDS of things have happened!<\/p>\n
In this week’s parsha (“Shmini,” Leviticus chapters 9 through 11), the deaths of Nadab and Abihu, the eldest sons of Aaron, for one.\u00a0 And even though the text tells us directly WHY (and, yes, may hint at other issues as well) there is no shortage of alternative explanations.<\/p>\n
What there is also no shortage of, however, are other examples of the “eighth day.”<\/p>\n
