{"id":1808,"date":"2019-03-24T07:10:08","date_gmt":"2019-03-24T13:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=1808"},"modified":"2019-03-24T07:10:08","modified_gmt":"2019-03-24T13:10:08","slug":"arsha-tzav-teaching-from-shabbat-shalom-mesa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=1808","title":{"rendered":"arsha \u201cTzav\u201d\u2013 teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a look at parsha &#8220;Tzav&#8221; (meaning &#8216;command,&#8217; from Leviticus\/Vayikra chapters 6 through 8).<\/p>\n<p>This week Mark&#8217;s internet connection was devastated for the Erev Shabbat service, so the &#8216;overview teaching&#8217; didn&#8217;t really happen, until a recap during the Sabbath Day session.<\/p>\n<p>The parsha begins with an admonition to &#8220;command&#8221; Aaron and his sons &#8212; the cohenim &#8212; concerning the instruction of YHVH about the things outlined in last week&#8217;s <em>parsh<\/em>, the <em>olah<\/em>, <em>minchah<\/em>, <em>chattat<\/em> (and <em>asham<\/em>), and <em>shalamim<\/em> offerings. The associated haftorah portion for this week, from Jeremiah chapter 7, offers an interesting and very instructive contrast.
