But it turns out that when the Creator of the Universe and Author of Scripture spends this much &#8220;ink&#8221; on a topic, there&#8217;s more here than we have probably heard in &#8216;sunday-skool,&#8217; especially when we may well have been told it&#8217;s all &#8220;done away with&#8221; anyway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/hebrewnation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/21132339\/SSM-3-20-20-Vayakhel-Pekudei-double-parsha-teaching-podcast-xx.mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SSM Vayakhel-Pekudei<\/strong> <\/a>is the Erev Shabbat Overview.<\/p>\n<p>Mark starts the Sabbath teaching off by addressing head-on one of the questions that may at least be in the &#8220;back of the mind&#8221; of many: What relevance TODAY, given pandemic panic and likely martial law, does a lot or clearly repetitive information about the construction of something we don&#8217;t even HAVE anymore have anyway?<\/p>\n<p>At least part of that answer has to do with cycles, and why (to paraphrase Mark Twain) sometimes the cycles don&#8217;t so much as repeat, but &#8216;rhyme&#8217;. But what was vital that the people who had just made, and barely survived, the sin of the &#8216;golden calf&#8217; DID is exactly what we&#8217;d better be able to understand today.
