And, admittedly, this is one of the most &#8220;packed&#8221; parashot in the Bible, since it literally IS &#8216;the Foundation&#8217; upon which the rest is built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Erev Shabbat look, Mark attempts to explain why &#8212; among other things &#8212; this portion is a great &#8216;proof text&#8217; for the fact that this is far more than even &#8216;merely&#8217; a Creation Story, it literally sets up EVERYTHING that follows, in the Book, and in history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/hebrewnation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/02144133\/SSM-10-1-21-Bereshiet-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So much of EVERYTHING that is wrong, and that is right, in the world today, has it&#8217;s &#8216;genesis&#8217; right here. Certainly this reading has a lot to tell us about how we got where we are.
