{"id":2361,"date":"2021-12-05T07:31:06","date_gmt":"2021-12-05T14:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2361"},"modified":"2021-12-05T07:31:06","modified_gmt":"2021-12-05T14:31:06","slug":"parsha-miketz-teaching-from-shabbat-shalom-mesa-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2361","title":{"rendered":"Parsha \u201cMiketz\u201d teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a two-part look at parsha &#8216;Miketz,&#8217; (Genesis\/Bereshiet 41:1 &#8211; 44:17): the next installment in the story of the life of Yosef, or Joseph, and the middle of what could rightly be called the &#8220;Cliffhanger Series&#8221; story of Genesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also really begins to give us a good look into the understanding of the man who is said to foreshadow the then-coming Messiah, as &#8220;Meshiach ben Yosef,&#8221; a.k.a., the &#8220;Suffering Servant.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the Erev Shabbat overview of the entire portion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/hebrewnation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/04142522\/SSM-12-3-21-Mikketz-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark begins with the reminder that Joseph has been called the &#8216;suffering servant,&#8217; and a &#8220;type and shadow&#8221; of at least one &#8216;aspect&#8217; of the Messiah, a.k.a., Meshiach ben Yosef. He endured hardships in order to be in place to save many lives, including those who sold him into slavery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it&#8217;s the patterns and cycles of both history and prophecy that are the focus this week. Often they &#8216;rhyme,&#8217; but sometimes the OPPOSITE half-cycle is what we see playing out; similar, but OPPOSITE.
