{"id":2383,"date":"2022-02-06T07:19:13","date_gmt":"2022-02-06T14:19:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2383"},"modified":"2022-02-06T07:19:13","modified_gmt":"2022-02-06T14:19:13","slug":"parsha-terumah-teaching-from-shabbat-shalom-mesa-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2383","title":{"rendered":"Parsha \u201cTerumah\u201d teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After the story of the Pharaoh, the plagues, and the Exodus from Egypt, followed by commandments and <em>mishpatim<\/em>, this week&#8217;s parsha (Terumah, Exodus chapters 25 through 27:19) is quite a departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Moses is still up on the mountain, he is told to take a <em>terumah<\/em>, offering, from all of those whose hearts make them willing. And gets a lot of information about how it is to be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Erev Shabbat, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa goes into that, and perhaps even a bit of the &#8216;why&#8217; &#8212; given that this happens before the failure of the &#8216;golden calf&#8217;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/hebrewnation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/05180217\/SSM-2-4-22-Terumah-teaching-podcast-x.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Sabbath day study, Mark addresses some of the challenges we might have in studying a set of detailed instructions such as these. Is it a lot of repetition, &#8216;boring&#8217; even?
