{"id":2386,"date":"2022-02-13T07:54:01","date_gmt":"2022-02-13T14:54:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2386"},"modified":"2022-02-13T07:54:01","modified_gmt":"2022-02-13T14:54:01","slug":"parsha-tetzaveh-teaching-from-shabbat-shalom-mesa-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2386","title":{"rendered":"Parsha \u201cTetzaveh\u201d teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Parsha (Tetzaveh, Exodus 27:20 &#8211; 30:10) is yet another departure from not just the main &#8216;storyline&#8217; of Exodus, but &#8211; MAYBE &#8211; even what we might have thought was a theme of Scripture: appearances can be deceptive, what we hear is more important than what we see, or similar things we&#8217;ve probably heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Erev Shabbat, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa admits some of that, and maybe even why this might be a difficult lesson. Do clothes really &#8220;make the man&#8221;? Still though, there IS a whole lot of detail in this parsha, and there is undoubtedly something important to be learned when He says these garments are &#8220;for splendor and for beauty.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/hebrewnation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/12130850\/SSM-2-11-22-Tetzaveh-teaching-podcast-x.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Sabbath day study, Mark takes a look at those apparent contradictions. Is this splendid clothing for the annointed High Priest &#8216;merely &#8216;superficial? Clearly not, or why would He put so much emphasis on it? And, yes, like it or not, we DO tend to &#8220;judge by appearances&#8221;.
