{"id":2456,"date":"2022-07-24T07:12:09","date_gmt":"2022-07-24T13:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2456"},"modified":"2022-07-24T07:12:09","modified_gmt":"2022-07-24T13:12:09","slug":"parsha-pinchas-numbers-251-301-teaching-from-shabbat-shalom-mesa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2456","title":{"rendered":"Parsha \u201cPinchas\u201d (Numbers 25:1-30:1) teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>More often than some might suspect, the weekly Torah portion reflects uncannily well the issues and events in the world today. And especially this week, parsha Pinchas (Numbers 25:10-30:1) inspires us to ask the question, &#8220;just what does it MEAN to be &#8216;zealous&#8217; for Yahuah,&#8221; and what, then, do we do when the, uh\u2026&#8217;stuff hits the fan?&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a two-part study of the Torah portion that some have called one of the most &#8220;problematic,&#8221; even confusing, in the Book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, again no small <em>&#8216;coincidence&#8217;<\/em>, the parallels with the &#8216;prince of peace,&#8217; Who also said He came not to bring &#8220;peace, but a sword,&#8221; seem to contradict a lot of what we have been told to believe. Scripture notwithstanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the Erev Shabbat reading and outline of the entire parsha:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/hebrewnationonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/SSM-7-22-22-Pinchas-teaching-podcast-x.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sabbath teaching is where Mark hits the &#8220;hard lesson&#8221; head-on.
