{"id":2567,"date":"2023-05-21T07:12:34","date_gmt":"2023-05-21T13:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2567"},"modified":"2023-05-21T07:12:34","modified_gmt":"2023-05-21T13:12:34","slug":"parsha-bemidbar-teaching-from-shabbat-shalom-mesa-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2567","title":{"rendered":"Parsha \u201cBemidbar\u201d teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This week the annual Torah cycle reading begins the third Book in the Torah of Moshe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa Fellowship for a two-part look at parsha &#8220;Behmidbar&#8221; (Numbers\/Bemidbar 1:1 through 4:20),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Erev Shabbat reading of the parsha begins B&#8217;midbar &#8211; literally, &#8220;In the Wilderness,&#8221; which is a great description of the Book. But so, actually, is &#8220;Numbers&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Erev Shabbat reading explains why:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/hebrewnationonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/SSM-5-19-23-Bemidbar-teaching-podcast-x.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a number of the &#8220;Words in Red&#8221; spoken by Yahushua that seem &#8216;troubling&#8217; to many people. Especially if they have been taught about a warm, fuzzy, &#8216;popularized jesus&#8217; who is Oh-So-Tolerant, doesn&#8217;t have a whip, and didn&#8217;t say a lot of the things that the Real Messiah evidently DID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, there is a lot about the life of the prophet Hosea that much of &#8220;xtianity&#8221; would prefer to ignore, perhaps for reasons that SHOULD be obvious, given the lesson of his marriage. But it&#8217;s what is prophesied to happen &#8220;Bemidbar,&#8221; or &#8216;in the wilderness,&#8217; to those who where once &#8220;<em>lo ami<\/em>&#8221; (NOT My people!) that seems to connect all of those disconcerting elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And they may even explain why the warning about &#8220;another jesus, whom we have not preached,&#8221; is so vital to understand.
