{"id":2850,"date":"2025-06-15T07:41:53","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T13:41:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2850"},"modified":"2025-06-15T07:41:53","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T13:41:53","slug":"torah-teaching-for-parsha-behaalotecha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2850","title":{"rendered":"Torah Teaching for Parsha \u201cBeha&#8217;alotecha\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The annual Torah cycle reading for this week is parsha &#8220;Beha&#8217;alotecha,&#8221; (Numbers 8:1-12:16), and it is a true potpourri of events and issues, &#8220;from menorah to metzorah.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship begins with the Erev Shabbat reading:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/hebrewnationonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/SSM-6-13-25-Beha-alotecha-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As has been so often the case, but ESPECIALLY now, events in the world again set the stage for the midrash this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you ever noticed that there is a difference in the words used in rendering &#8220;do not covet\u2026&#8221; your neighbors&#8217; wife, house, and so on between the two repetitions of the &#8220;Ten Commandments?&#8221; The words used for &#8216;covet,&#8221; or &#8220;lust for,&#8221; are different (the Hebrew root is <em>;chamad&#8217;<\/em>the first time, but &#8216;<em>avah<\/em>&#8216; in Deuteronomy 5:21.)
