{"id":2991,"date":"2026-07-18T19:41:54","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T01:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2991"},"modified":"2026-07-18T19:41:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T01:41:54","slug":"torah-teaching-for-parsha-devarim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2991","title":{"rendered":"Torah Teaching for parsha \u201dDevarim\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Parsha &#8216;Devarim&#8217; (Deuteronomy chapters 1 thru 3) are the &#8220;Words&#8221; that Moshe spoke to &#8216;all Israel&#8217; during the last month of his life, and thus his &#8220;farewell address.&#8221; It&#8217;s also an elegant summary of His Torah, or the total Instruction, that was given by YHVH through him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it begins with the parsha that introduces the Book with, of course, the same Hebrew name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Erev Shabbat reading by Mark Call of SSM:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/hebrewnationonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/SSM-7-17-26-Devarim-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The story that Moses &#8216;retells&#8217; begins with a poignant observation: &#8220;It is [only] 11 days journey,&#8221; from \u2026where you started off\u2026 to \u2026where you were to end up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet it took 40 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then follows the lesson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After all, they were THERE with Moshe &#8212; even if some were very young, or even born after things he pointed out. But they were ALL still &#8216;very close&#8217; to the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thousands of years later, we still have the Book. But if they failed to &#8220;get it,&#8221; and heed the lesson, &#8220;how much more so&#8221; those who have been taught it has been &#8220;done away with,&#8221; and doesn&#8217;t even matter any more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do we have a &#8220;love of the Truth,&#8221; or not?
