{"id":2995,"date":"2026-08-02T07:10:33","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T13:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2995"},"modified":"2026-08-02T07:10:33","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T13:10:33","slug":"torah-teaching-for-parsha-ekev-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markniwot.com\/?p=2995","title":{"rendered":"Torah Teaching for parsha \u201dEkev\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Parsha &#8216;Ekev&#8217; (Deuteronomy 7:12-11:25) not only continues Moses&#8217; &#8216;Farewell Address&#8217; but some of the themes which permeate the Torah of YHVH: the repeated admonition to &#8220;hear and obey,&#8221; and KEEP His &#8220;commandments, judgments, and statutes,&#8221; and how that is inseparable from &#8220;love Him,&#8221; with all our &#8220;heart and soul.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the other element that is just as vital, but far more overlooked, is the prohibition against &#8220;idolatry.&#8221; Trouble is, most of the &#8216;whore church&#8217; no longer has a clue what that means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not that He isn&#8217;t clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Erev Shabbat reading:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/hebrewnationonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/SSM-7-31-26-Ekev-teaching-podcast-xxx.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This Torah portion is arguably a &#8220;one-two punch&#8221; to the understanding of why YHVH forbids idolatry in ANY form, but there are some additional specifics here that SHOULD really &#8220;hit home&#8221; &#8212; especially now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship investigates some of those elements, in the current context.
