“Vayakhel”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for an two-part look at this week’s Torah portion (parsha “Vayakhel”, Exodus chapters 35 through 40) which FOLLOWS the rebellion of the ‘golden calf’ with ANOTHER repetition of the details of building the ‘mishkan’, or tabernacle. What’s THAT about?

As usual, the Erev Shabbat summary tells the story in detail, along with some key points, like the fact that these repeated descriptions literally BRACKET the golden calf story.

SSM Vayakhel 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week again “pulls no punches” — again with reference to the Big Lies today, including much of churchianity. But even though the details of building the tabernacle in the wilderness might not SEEM to have much to teach us today, the opposite is – as so often turns out to be – TRUE.

“Whoever has a willing heart, let him ASK for…
…wisdom, discernment, Truth, and more…”
