“Ki Tetzi”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, September 3rd, 2017

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa teaches parsha “Ki Tetzi” this week, from Deuteronomy 21:10 through all of chapter 25.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching is a look at probably THE most “concentrated” group of decidedly NOT ‘politically-correct’ commandments and instructions in the whole Torah. No wonder so many of us have been taught that not only has it been “done away with”, but it didn’t matter anyway.

And the more we hear lies like that, the more important it is to “search out” the Scripture for ourselves, and see what the Truth is.

SSM Ki Tetzi 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week continues that theme, and even includes a bit more “Markology” than usual. (In other words, “your mileage may vary”. When it comes to the question of “WHY?” Scripture often gives us a number of dots…Mark’s understanding is one way to connect them. See for yourself regarding the pattern, and the consistency.)

But the bottom line is undeniable, even if most of This World chooses to deny it:

“Matot/Masei”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Wednesday, July 26th, 2017

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa teaches from this week’s “double portion” this week, Matot and Masei (Numbers 30:2 through the end of the Book).

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching begins with what he calls with one of the most important topics in Scripture when it comes to marriage and Covenant — vows, and authority. Suffice it to say, it’s been too often ignored.

SSM Matot/Masei 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching explores the ramifications of that fact in more detail. Mark suggests that language, speech, and the way we use, abuse, or squander the “power of the tongue” is at the root of many, if not almost all, of the problems we see in the world today, not just in marriage, but in the fact that a man’s “word is no longer his bond”. And it shows.

Warning: In this one, Mark pulls no punches.

“Shalach Lekha”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, June 25th, 2017

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa takes another two-part look at parsha “Shalach Lekha” (Numbers chapters 13 through 15).

During the Erev Shabbat overview teaching, we see the story of the ‘spies’, and their ‘evil report’, but that is only the beginning of the story and the lesson.

The bigger story has to do with obedience to His Instruction.  Will we allow a ‘majority vote’ to over-ride Him?  When it comes to a series of events that truly make the point about His commandments, and how important they REMAIN, this parsha is impossible to deny.

SSM “Shalach Lekha” 2017

The Sabbath day teaching looks at the lesson here that is SO clear if we do as the spies were TOLD to do — have “eyes to see,” and LOOK at the whole picture!

Let’s Crack the Code!

“Naso”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa“Naso”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, June 5th, 2017

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa takes another two-part look at parsha “Naso” (Num. 4:21 through the end of chapter 7) — which MIGHT look like a veritable potpourri of disconnected topics, until you take a deeper look at it.

During the Erev Shabbat overview teaching, Mark attempts to do just that. There’s a reason why most mainstream Christian denominations tend to ignore these, too…and it’s very much related.

SSM “Naso” 2017

During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark takes an in-depth look at one specific aspect of the portion that is sometimes called the “remedy for the jealous husband,” or the “law of the sotah”. But it’s in fact a theme that is SO fundamental to the entire history of the “sons of Israel,” the two houses that have both been “sent out” for cause, and our continuing exile, that it’s no wonder ‘the church’ would prefer to ignore the entire issue.  (And, yes, it’ll be clear why Mark freely uses the term ‘whore church’ — since that’s what Scripture makes clear.)

“Acharei Mot / Kedoshim”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, May 7th, 2017

This week, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa examines another double Torah portion, Acharei Mot and then Kedoshim, Leviticus chapters 16 through 20.

AND yet AGAIN, we find another segment in Scripture that we have probably been TOLD is boring, obsolete, irrelevant, and – especially – “done away with,” and again is focused explicitly on the difference between life and death.

This week the Erev Shabbat overview start with what happened “after the death” (‘acharie mot’) of the two sons of Aaron, from the story of the two goats of Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement (yes, it still matters!) to a lot of commandments that the modern world certainly ignores, and we can see both why, and what the consequences are:

SSM Acharei Mot / Kedoshim 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week again demonstrates that Torah really IS a matter of “Life and Death.” This time the “view from 10,000 feet” shows us why Mark contends this “double-portion” is literally a look right into why the world is in the shape it is:

“Time for Some MEAT!”– Special Sabbath Teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, April 23rd, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for an two-part look at this week’s ‘special’ Torah portion, in-between “Shmini,” (Lev. 9-11) and the regular sequence for next week, but associated with what Mark calls the “third rail” of the ‘whore church’ — issues that simply CANNOT be discussed, especially since they are from Scripture, but not the “traditions of men” that turn it upside-down.

Part one from Erev Shabbat is the overview, and why this is so vital NOW, especially in light of world events that are literally of “Biblical proportions”.

Part 1:  “The THREE ‘Third-Rails’ of Pagan Doctrine that CANNOT be Touched”

The Sabbath Day teaching this week continues with the importance of discernment — between the “holy” and downright abominably “profane” — and in particular a question that much of that whore church asks – but has no real interest in hearing an answer to:

“Why is ‘the church’ not OPERATING in the power of Jesus Christ?!”

Part 2:  “Time for Some MEAT!”

“Yitro” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, February 19th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for another two-part look at this week’s Torah portion (parsha “Yitro”, Numbers chapters 18 through 20).

The Erev Shabbat overview begins with the arrival of Yitro, Moses’ father-in-law, of course, but includes perhaps the most “Divine Revelation” in all of history, at Sinai:

“B’shalach” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, February 12th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for this two-part look at the many lessons contained in one of the most famous stories in the Book, the “parting of the Red Sea” (OK, See of Reeds).

The Erev Shabbat complete story overview:

Are we “Goin’ out, or comin’ IN?” One thing is for sure, though, the ‘human condition’ hasn’t changed, and arguably YHVH will STILL have “war with Amalek,” throughout even our generations. And THAT is a key to where we are, too.

Stand still and See! — the human condition and cycles continue

“Vayashev” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, December 26th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa his teaching on Parsha Vayashev (Genesis chapters 37 through 40).

The Erev Shabbat overview of the entire parsha begins the story of Joseph, and the concept of “Messiah ben Yosef,” and introduces the concepts that form the crux of the latter teaching on Sabbath:

And the Sabbath Day teaching is again VERY “not PC” — because that’s where we are today.

The story of Joseph, and Judah…
…and it still fits today…

“Chayei Sarah” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Saturday, November 26th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for some insight into what might be called the first Law Seminar in the Scripture — several stories that literally form the basis for what was once known as the “Common Law”: Contract, Agency, Covenant;
Parsha “Chayei Sarah” (Genesis 23:1 through 25:18).

The Erev Shabbat teaching is all about Learning By Example; “precedent”, even. The first land contract, about one of the most important parcels ever sold, and why. What it means to “come in the name of,” and why marriage is more than a contract, but isn’t “covenant” without understanding, either.

SSM “Chayei-Sarah” 2016

The Sabbath Day teaching suggests that there is a reason why “lawlessness abounds” now, perhaps like never before:

We don’t understand contract, much less Covenant!
