“Bemidbar” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, June 12th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa as we begin the study of a new Book, Numbers in the English, but “Bemidbar,” or In the Wilderness, from the Hebrew (Numbers 1:1 through 4:21).

And it starts with a “head count”, and continues through the what and why of the Levites who “take the place of” the firstborn. During the Erev Shabbat overview, Mark takes a look at the specifics, and why these numbers should give us an insight that buying into the lie that ‘the Law is done away with’ will NEVER provide:

This time the Sabbath Day teaching goes even further afield, and certainly even more politically INcorrect, than even the numbers themselves reveal. There is a VERY good reason that when YHVH commands a census, He is counting “Who is Mine!” and why we need to understand exactly what that means:

“Counting, numbering, registering, voting, and OWNING“

Torah portion “Shoftim”

Monday, September 1st, 2014

Join Mark Call for two related, but different looks at this week’s Torah portion, Shoftim, from Deuteronomy 16:18 through 21:9. This week’s portion focuses on the concept of “Justice”, and provides some incredible insight, generally overlooked in today’s “post-Biblical” world.

The first recording is the regular Erev Shabbat teaching, from the Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship, and is as usual an overview of the entire parsha:

The much longer teaching from Shabbat concentrates on a major theme from the parsha in greater detail, and even more than usual this week in connections to the current “times and seasons”. The contrast between ”Justice, JUSTICE! you shall pursue,” and the “Greater Babylon Metro Area” has never been more stark.
