News and commentary for Monday, 3 June, 2019.

And there’s a WHOLE LOT of it today!

Since the Hebrew Nation Radio website is finally back up, the page for the link there is here.

Parsha “Bechukotai”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Saturday, June 1st, 2019

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a look at parsha “Bechukotai” (Leviticus 26:2 through the end of the Book) where the consequences for the rebellion against Him and His Written Word are laid out in such a clear and undeniable fashion that it’s no WONDER the ‘whore church’ prefers to lie about the whole thing!

In the Erev Shabbat review, Mark points out why 7 times 7 times 7 times 7 is not only a warning that once was not heeded, but may well be playing out again, and “fulfilled in your hearing”.

ONE more time, there’s a lot in this portion too that is “Not PC.” Perhaps that’s particularly apropos to note when the subject is “rebuke” for utter and outright rebellion to His Word (to the point, even, that so many “souls abhor it” in Hollywood, the Deep State Swamp, and, yes, the ”whore church”.) In other words, be forewarned, this will “offend many”.

Parsha “Chayei Sarah”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa”

Sunday, November 4th, 2018

Join Mark Call for a look at parsha, “Chayei Sarah,” Genesis 23:1 through 25:18, which he describes as including THE pre-eminent “common law textbook” stories in the entire Torah.

During the Erev Shabbat teaching, Mark Call again looks at the entire parsha, from the “life of Sarah,” and then her death and burial, through those stories that formed the basis for the common law concepts of “contract law,” and then marriage, and finally the idea of “agency,” power of attorney, or what the Bible means by a good and faithful servant who “comes in the name of,” his master.

During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark looks initially and a bit more deeply into the elements of the story of Abraham’s purchase of the Cave of Machpelah and the first recorded land transfer deed in history, and the elements of what we see a “good and faithful servant,” who goes to do his master’s will, in his name, should look like.

And, now, just how far those twin pillars of a just society — Trust, and the Rule of Law –have been undermined.

How better to destroy that society? And how can we begin to rebuild those elements?

The combined part 1 and 2 files for both sections are up here via the permalink on Hebrew Nation Radio. (This week there were a lot of additional questions following the teaching, related to peripheral topics — from bicoins to solar systems and EMP — so that extended Q&A is also at the end of this recording)

“Vayigash”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, December 24th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the thrilling climax of at least MOST of the story of the “Suffering Servant,” Yosef/Joseph, and how THE Plan of YHVH continues to play out, with Judah demonstrating what it means to “MAN UP!” — resulting in restoration of the brothers and their houses, lives saved, and — ultimately — a descent into bondage. (Parsha “Vayigash,” Genesis 44:18 – 47:27. And a look at the haftorah in Ezekiel 37, and a bit of Ephesians 5, too.)

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching is about the final installment of the journey to Mitzraim (Egypt) and the restoration saga, but with a perhaps disturbing implication:

SSM Vayigash 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week is focused on a specific aspect of the story of the man who represents a picture or aspect of the Meshiach to come. How is it that the very same man who literally saves the entire house of Israel, and was sent to “preserve life” at the same time looks to his brothers like a pagan, and ultimately initiates a process that leads to bondage?

The answer seems to relate to cycles that repeat, whether we like it or not, and what might seem like a contradiction (Ephesians chapter 5, or Ezekiel 37?) if we don’t look at the ‘bigger picture’ – in context. Especially in a ‘season’ like today.

“Vayeira ”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, November 5th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a two-part look at parsha “Vayeira,” Genesis chapters 18 through 22.

The Erev Shabbat overview stretches from the story of the birth of Isaac and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, through the Akeida, or binding of Isaac.

SSM “Vayeira” 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching continues the examination of Abraham’s demonstation of FAITH, from the perspective of what it really means for us to believe Yahuah as he did.

“Vayeira – ‘by faith Abraham‘ and how do we WALK in that during troubling times?”

“Shoftim”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Saturday, August 26th, 2017

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa teaches parsha “Shoftim” this week, from Deuteronomy 16:18 through 21:9.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching is about as FAR from AmeriKa-with-a-K in 2017 as is possible to get: ”Justice, JUSTICE you shall pursue!” Evidently, because you won’t find it HERE:

SSM Shoftim 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week continues a theme from the last one, where we are clearly at a ‘cusp’, where many things seem to be ‘coming to a head’ of Downright Biblical Proportions. And when we compare how the Bible says we SHOULD seek “justice, JUSTICE!” with what has been happening in a nation that seems to hate YHVH even more than it has tried to forget Him — perhaps things become more clear.

In any event, Mark doesn’t blame those who are angry!

Shoftim: What if they gave a Race War and Nobody Came? Or – why you SHOULD be “mad as hell” – but it’s not enough!

“Terumah” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, March 6th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for another two-part look at this week’s Torah portion (parsha “Terumah”, Exodus 25:1 through 27:19).

The Erev Shabbat overview introduces the first detail concerning the Mishkan (‘tabernacle’) and begins a look at why this apparent “digression” from the main story happens NOW:

SSM Terumah 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week is itself a digression of a sort, since it seems that — like the ancient Israelites — we, too, are at a major crossroads, and a story that seems to have paused, while heading for a climax. There’s FAR more here than might meet the eyes, from pi to parables:

Why THIS digression, now?

“Shemot” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, January 22nd, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for this two-part look at the first parsha in a new book, Exodus, aka “Shemot” (Ex. 1:1-6:1)

The Erev Shabbat complete story overview:

SSM Shemot 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching addresses the story of so many people in Scripture — especially in this parsha — who “feared God” more than Pharoahs, Popes, or even Presidents, and disregarded the Authorized Clergy Response Team Official IRS-Approved Version of Romans 13 — “as Twisted.”

“Naso” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “Naso” (Numbers 4:21 through chapter 7).

And let’s be clear up front. This one, to paraphrase Shaul/Paul, is about the “meat” of Scripture, not milk. And in a world of paganized “xtianity” where much of what calls itself the ‘Body of Christ’ is not even ready for water — and as Yahushua promised — many will be “offended”.

But it is time for all of us to speak His Truth “boldly” – as we ought to.

First, from Erev Shabbat, the overview of the entire fascinating — and even repetitive — Torah portion. This is the longest parsha in Scripture; it contains some of the most critical concepts in Scripture, especially now, and also among the most “overlooked”.

Naso 2016

It is again the Sabbath Day teaching where the Torah portion, and the Scriptures that depend upon it, become such an indictment to a world, even a “church,” which “honors Me with their lips” — but “their hearts are far from me.”

How can we possibly come OUT of something, if we don’t even recognize the whoring and lies that resulted in the Exile to begin with?

“What fellowship has whoring with the ‘body of …”another jesus“…’ ?”

Mark Call – “Kedoshim” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, May 15th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa from the mountains of southern Colorado for a look at this week’s Torah portion, “Kedoshim,” from Leviticus 19 and 20.

What the heck does it mean to be “holy”?

First, the Erev Shabbat teaching, where that question is answered directly, from “beginning to end” of the parsha. And, this week, current events are a major part of that story:

Kedoshim SSM 2016

During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark is even a bit more blunt than usual, because the topic demands nothing less. Sometimes if we desire to understand what it means to be “set apart”, it’s very helpful to know, “from WHAT?”

“Practical Holiness”

And the urgency has never been more obvious.
