Parsha “Chayei Sarah”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa”

Sunday, November 4th, 2018

Join Mark Call for a look at parsha, “Chayei Sarah,” Genesis 23:1 through 25:18, which he describes as including THE pre-eminent “common law textbook” stories in the entire Torah.

During the Erev Shabbat teaching, Mark Call again looks at the entire parsha, from the “life of Sarah,” and then her death and burial, through those stories that formed the basis for the common law concepts of “contract law,” and then marriage, and finally the idea of “agency,” power of attorney, or what the Bible means by a good and faithful servant who “comes in the name of,” his master.

During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark looks initially and a bit more deeply into the elements of the story of Abraham’s purchase of the Cave of Machpelah and the first recorded land transfer deed in history, and the elements of what we see a “good and faithful servant,” who goes to do his master’s will, in his name, should look like.

And, now, just how far those twin pillars of a just society — Trust, and the Rule of Law –have been undermined.

How better to destroy that society? And how can we begin to rebuild those elements?

The combined part 1 and 2 files for both sections are up here via the permalink on Hebrew Nation Radio. (This week there were a lot of additional questions following the teaching, related to peripheral topics — from bicoins to solar systems and EMP — so that extended Q&A is also at the end of this recording)

“Vayigash”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, December 24th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the thrilling climax of at least MOST of the story of the “Suffering Servant,” Yosef/Joseph, and how THE Plan of YHVH continues to play out, with Judah demonstrating what it means to “MAN UP!” — resulting in restoration of the brothers and their houses, lives saved, and — ultimately — a descent into bondage. (Parsha “Vayigash,” Genesis 44:18 – 47:27. And a look at the haftorah in Ezekiel 37, and a bit of Ephesians 5, too.)

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching is about the final installment of the journey to Mitzraim (Egypt) and the restoration saga, but with a perhaps disturbing implication:

SSM Vayigash 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week is focused on a specific aspect of the story of the man who represents a picture or aspect of the Meshiach to come. How is it that the very same man who literally saves the entire house of Israel, and was sent to “preserve life” at the same time looks to his brothers like a pagan, and ultimately initiates a process that leads to bondage?

The answer seems to relate to cycles that repeat, whether we like it or not, and what might seem like a contradiction (Ephesians chapter 5, or Ezekiel 37?) if we don’t look at the ‘bigger picture’ – in context. Especially in a ‘season’ like today.

“Vayeira ”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, November 5th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a two-part look at parsha “Vayeira,” Genesis chapters 18 through 22.

The Erev Shabbat overview stretches from the story of the birth of Isaac and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, through the Akeida, or binding of Isaac.

SSM “Vayeira” 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching continues the examination of Abraham’s demonstation of FAITH, from the perspective of what it really means for us to believe Yahuah as he did.

“Vayeira – ‘by faith Abraham‘ and how do we WALK in that during troubling times?”

“Shoftim”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Saturday, August 26th, 2017

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa teaches parsha “Shoftim” this week, from Deuteronomy 16:18 through 21:9.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching is about as FAR from AmeriKa-with-a-K in 2017 as is possible to get: ”Justice, JUSTICE you shall pursue!” Evidently, because you won’t find it HERE:

SSM Shoftim 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week continues a theme from the last one, where we are clearly at a ‘cusp’, where many things seem to be ‘coming to a head’ of Downright Biblical Proportions. And when we compare how the Bible says we SHOULD seek “justice, JUSTICE!” with what has been happening in a nation that seems to hate YHVH even more than it has tried to forget Him — perhaps things become more clear.

In any event, Mark doesn’t blame those who are angry!

Shoftim: What if they gave a Race War and Nobody Came? Or – why you SHOULD be “mad as hell” – but it’s not enough!

“Terumah” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Monday, March 6th, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for another two-part look at this week’s Torah portion (parsha “Terumah”, Exodus 25:1 through 27:19).

The Erev Shabbat overview introduces the first detail concerning the Mishkan (‘tabernacle’) and begins a look at why this apparent “digression” from the main story happens NOW:

SSM Terumah 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching this week is itself a digression of a sort, since it seems that — like the ancient Israelites — we, too, are at a major crossroads, and a story that seems to have paused, while heading for a climax. There’s FAR more here than might meet the eyes, from pi to parables:

Why THIS digression, now?

“Shemot” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, January 22nd, 2017

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for this two-part look at the first parsha in a new book, Exodus, aka “Shemot” (Ex. 1:1-6:1)

The Erev Shabbat complete story overview:

SSM Shemot 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching addresses the story of so many people in Scripture — especially in this parsha — who “feared God” more than Pharoahs, Popes, or even Presidents, and disregarded the Authorized Clergy Response Team Official IRS-Approved Version of Romans 13 — “as Twisted.”

“Naso” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a study of the parsha “Naso” (Numbers 4:21 through chapter 7).

And let’s be clear up front. This one, to paraphrase Shaul/Paul, is about the “meat” of Scripture, not milk. And in a world of paganized “xtianity” where much of what calls itself the ‘Body of Christ’ is not even ready for water — and as Yahushua promised — many will be “offended”.

But it is time for all of us to speak His Truth “boldly” – as we ought to.

First, from Erev Shabbat, the overview of the entire fascinating — and even repetitive — Torah portion. This is the longest parsha in Scripture; it contains some of the most critical concepts in Scripture, especially now, and also among the most “overlooked”.

Naso 2016

It is again the Sabbath Day teaching where the Torah portion, and the Scriptures that depend upon it, become such an indictment to a world, even a “church,” which “honors Me with their lips” — but “their hearts are far from me.”

How can we possibly come OUT of something, if we don’t even recognize the whoring and lies that resulted in the Exile to begin with?

“What fellowship has whoring with the ‘body of …”another jesus“…’ ?”

Mark Call – “Kedoshim” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, May 15th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa from the mountains of southern Colorado for a look at this week’s Torah portion, “Kedoshim,” from Leviticus 19 and 20.

What the heck does it mean to be “holy”?

First, the Erev Shabbat teaching, where that question is answered directly, from “beginning to end” of the parsha. And, this week, current events are a major part of that story:

Kedoshim SSM 2016

During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark is even a bit more blunt than usual, because the topic demands nothing less. Sometimes if we desire to understand what it means to be “set apart”, it’s very helpful to know, “from WHAT?”

“Practical Holiness”

And the urgency has never been more obvious.

“Acharei Mot” – teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Sunday, May 8th, 2016

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa from the mountains of southern Colorado for an in-depth examination of this week’s Torah portion, the related haftorah (Ezekiel 22) and how it is still every bit as relevant, even when we remain in exile, as it has been throughout history.

Warning: Not only does this week’s parsha contain “adult content”, but it also may be unsuitable for ‘milk drinkers’.

First, the Erev Shabbat teaching, where Mark generally covers the entire parsha (Leviticus chapters 16 through 18) from start to finish:

Acharei Mot 2016

During the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark “takes off the gloves” (OK, even more than usual ? ) and tackles the utterly politically-INcorrect elements of this part of Scripture in particular that show why so many of the lies we have “inherited from our fathers” are not only exactly that — but lead to Death:

Love is NOT all there is: The subtle and NOT so subtle reasons for “discrimination”

The Whore Church

Thursday, October 8th, 2015

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14)

You may have noticed that this article has a somewhat blunt title. But it’s appropriate, and, since Scripture is far MORE graphic and effusive about the topic, perhaps even a bit of understatement.

What is “the church”? And should Torah-observant Believers in the Most High want anything to do with it?

The history of the paganized Roman “church” is clear, and often revolting, albeit too often ignored or shrouded in deception. Over a millenium before the “One, True, Universal, and Catholic” church brought the world the Inquisition, it literally outlawed the observance of the Biblical Sabbath, and the attempt to keep the moedim, or Appointed Times, that YHVH Himself said we were to keep “forever.”

The Council of Laodicea decreed the following in AD 364:

Canon XXIX:Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord’s Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

(A mere paragraph or even a long article on the pagan history of ‘the Church’ cannot even begin to LIST the crimes on that score; suffice it to say that libraries of books on the subject only begin to outline the sordid story. Sadly, however, there is “nothing new under the sun.” Or the sun-god.)

And, yes, there have been other attempts at “reformation” over the past 500 years or so. But for the most part, such attempts have fallen far short of true tshuvah, or RETURN to YHVH and His Word as Written – from shellfish to Sabbath. And so the promised regathering remains in the future as well, probably after the plagues take their toll. Which is why the message of “repentance” is increasingly urgent!

Lately it seems more and more obvious that to follow YHVH and not the “traditions of men” – whatever they may be morphing into – will get one labeled “intolerant”, or worse. How dare we reject what He calls “abomination!” Recently the so-called “vicar of christ” was in two of the world’s most pagan megacities, proclaiming both a new (or is it Olde?) religion of Gaia-worship in the Name of “Climate Science.” And at the very same time he hypocritically proclaimed to respect “freedom of religion”. “Chrislam,” maybe, but certainly not His Word as Written!

The Waste-stream media ignored the incredible Orwellian contradictions of those two politically-correct agendas, of course:

In those same transparently socialist and faux-Scriptural speeches came calls for “fundamental and effective agreements” under the guise of “international law” to push the Bogus Science of man-made global warming. Although the buzzwords have been changed to safeguard the lie – since NO one still believes that anybody’s “carbon footprint” is going to result in catastrophic climate meltdown after almost two decades of worldwide cooling. And a pope who preaches “sustainable development” and green religion while burning the “carbon equivalent” of 500,000 pounds of coal in his wide-body 777-200 en route to the sales pitch is a shameless hypocrite to boot.

The problem is that the Global Green Religion will be enforced at the barrel of a gun. Whether it’s “carbon taxes” that will further devastate the poor (and arguably freeze and starve many in the years to come) or criminal sanctions for those that dare to exercise “liberty” in the face of those false gods, what is being pushed is the opposite of religious freedom, in spite of the lies.

The True Messiah, who “came to do the Father’s will”, said He would not change a single letter of His Torah so long as “heaven and earth” still existed. They still do, and those two witnesses of Deuteronomy 30 warn against such Evil. There is a historic, and utterly antithetical to Scripture, reason why ‘popes’ who claim a false authority to twist Scripture in the name of “another jesus” wear a special hat. It is in the shape of a fish, and represents the demonic fish-god, ‘dagon’.

Warnings and consequences of turning to false gods, and replacing His commandments for worship with others are literally “legion”. The entire chapter of Deuteronomy 13 is about what we are to do when confronted with a false prophet, who “speaks what [YHVH] did not tell him to speak,” while encouraging obedience to another god “whom your fathers did NOT know.”

The prophet Ezekiel (chapters 8 and 9) teaches us that we are to “sigh and cry” at the abominations being done. And the warning of judgment for idolatry is to “begin at My sanctuary!”

But many of us were raised in the idolatry of the Whore, and the idolatry of a sun-god-day, by a whole series of false prophets, and false ‘ church fathers’ who should have known better, but had themselves inherited lies. And it’s far too late to “put out” one or even a few idolators from ‘the camp.’ It is clearly no longer “His camp”, but the world’s. Our mandate is therefore different. “Come out of her, My people,” so that you do not participate in her sins, and thus her coming plagues.

There is an ecumenical “unity” movement coming, and it will not be limited to just “chrislam”. Nor will it be voluntary – any more than such ‘reforms’ have been in the past!

This evil is hardly limited to a pagan pied piper pope, or wanna-be emperors from Washington. It extends throughout the 501c(3), corporate faith-based creations of the prince of this world to the lowest levels of ‘churches’ which fail to “teach my people the difference between the clean and the unclean.”

And the deception to come is the greatest in human history. Which is downright mind-boggling.

So do not be fooled! And this is no time to keep silent!

II Corinthians 6:14, 16, 17:

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

I will dwell in them
And walk among
them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you…
