“Vaetchanan”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa teaches the parsha from the Book of Devarim/Deuteronomy this week — “Vaetchanan” (3:32 thru 7:11) — that begins a series with more “concentrated MEAT” than perhaps any section of Scripture.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching, and the specifics of the ‘statutes, judgments, and commandments’ that we are NOT to “add to” or “subtract from,” but DO:

SSM “Vaetchanan” 2017

The Sabbath Day teaching begins by noting that Deuteronomy is just plain DIFFERENT from all the other Books in the Torah. And so is this teaching. Admittedly, it’s a bit like drinking from a fire hose, but ‘the Words’ that begin here explain why ‘the World’ so hates them!

Warning: As usual, Mark pulls no punches. It’s not just the ‘Whore Church’ we see so clearly in this portion, but the fact that the two kingdoms might also be termed the “Add-to House,” and the “Subtract-from House.”
