This is a special set of teachings for the week of Sukkot.
The regular Torah portion for this Sabbath is Leviticus 22:26 through 23:44, which has to do with, among related things, this special time, and the fact that we are to observe it, “forever, throughout your generations, in all your dwelling places.”
Since this is a special week, and a very special time, the Sabbath day teaching for this week is more “free form” as well, and does a bit more “compare and contrast.”
