“Ha’azinu”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa the next-to-last parsha in the annual Torah cycle this week, “Ha’azinu”, from Deuteronomy chapter 32; aka the second and final “Song of Moses”.

The Erev Shabbat overview teaching begins by invoking those SAME two witnesses – heaven and earth – that are STILL around, and still witness that His Instruction has NOT changed. And there’s a warning in here, too, that should sound familiar, even repetitive, but perhaps it’s repeated because it’s still all too often ignored.

The Sabbath Day teaching is a look at THE ‘question’ some folks have been asking for months – “do you believe the September 23 end-of-the-world ‘sign’??”

And yet here we are in the beginning of the Fall Feasts – the Moedim of YHVH we have been told to remember and do, as best we can, here in exile – forever. Which ‘signs’ are we going to pay attention to? And do we know the times and the seasons anyway?

Ha’azinu — the REAL signs to watch!
