    Shalom, Mark.

    I love your show and you do a great job! So I was very surprised to hear you mispronounce and therefore misdefine part of the Declaration of Independence, which reads :We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. Unalienable, not unlienable (which is not a word). Unalienable means ‘not able to be transferred to another’. It’s not exactly that someone could put a lien against your rights, although I guess the idea might be similar.

    Anyway, I try to listen every day. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks for the feedback, Marcy. I’ll have to re-check the recording; normally I am VERY careful to pronounce the word correctly (and you are right, it is NOT as most people read it) –
    “un-a-lien-able”. It is possible that the recording got hit with a digital glitch; I caught at least one other drop-out on the part of the recording that I was able to listen to via the podcast download. That would be enough to make me want to edit and resubmit it, albeit too late for most folks.

    You are correct on the meaning as well. (I am often, given time, inclined to make that point concerning the word as well.)

    PS> I did check the podcast recording, at 6:10 in…and both my original and the podcast that I downloaded, actually have the word correct in that segment.

    Aha. This is the 2nd time this week that this has happened to me…I heard something that was not said. The joys of digital technology. It makes me wonder about what other people are (not) hearing.
