Torah Teachers’ Round Table – Tanakh Edition – II Kings chapter 1

The Torah Teachers’ Round Table Show this week features co-hosts Mark Pitrone, Mark Call, and Rob Miller working their way lately through the histories of both divided kingdoms, Judah in the south, and Israel in the north, now from II Kings chapter 1.

And this chapter includes more about the prophet EliYahu, or Elijah, his ‘double portion’ successor, Elisha, and a fiery chariot and another whirlwind.

Parsha “Acharei Mot”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa”

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a look at parsha “Acharei Mot” (Leviticus chapters 16 through 18)

The Erev Shabbat review begins with what happens acharei mot – ‘after the death’ of Aaron’s two sons, and includes the storied reference to the ‘two goats’ associated with the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur, and continues through an outline of ‘prohibited sexual relationships’ and other practices for which the inhabitants of The Land were “vomited out”.  As it turns out, more than once, and that continues.

The Sabbath Day teaching explores the implications, and the haftorah (Ezekiel chapter 22) and related Scriptures.  And again Mark draws some connections which a paganized world and its ‘whore churches’ not only ignore, but deny:

Teachings from Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the “ULB Final Day”

This week, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship takes a look at teachings associated with the final days of the Passover feast and the last Sabbath of the week of Unleavened Bread.

During the Erev Shabbat overview teaching, Mark examines the traditional parsha for this week, from Exodus 13:17 through 15:26, that tells the story of what happens AFTER the plagues, up to the crossing of the Sea of Reeds. In other words, the end of the ‘exodus proper’ and the Beginning of the real journey:

This week continued the escalation unparalleled turmoil in the world, to the point where the war against those who seek to follow YHVH and His Word — or even pretend to, in too many cases — has become undeniable, except among those who deceive for ‘another master’.

There IS a war in progress, on many fronts, and it ‘sure as heck ain’t holy’. But all of that, in conjunction with ‘such a time as this,’ and the lessons and reminders of this very season, have much to teach us, and much to warn us about. In the special Sabbath Day teaching for this final part of the week of Unleaved Bread, Mark’s message is entitled:

“UN-holy War and the Greater Exodus”

Parsha “Pesach”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa”

This week, Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship takes a look at teachings associated with the Passover feast and the first day of the week of Unleavened Bread. As you probably have come to expect, he doesn’t pull punches. And, no, it’s not the same as ‘easter’, but yes, it really DOES matter.

This is also a week of unparalleled turmoil in the world, and arguably none of that is a coincidence. Scripture has warned us about the consequences of rebellion against Him for a very long time.

Warning:   The focus here is people who have a heart to “search out the Truth for themselves.” This teaching is not going to sit well with many people who would prefer NOT to hear what Yahuah has to say about things He calls ‘abomination’. And that includes pagan traditions that the whore church claims are cute and harmless, but where He clearly says otherwise. ‘Cause if what’s going on – in “such a time as this” – doesn’t at the very least make us angry, or even “sigh and cry” – then what’s happened before will no doubt happen again.

It may never have mattered more.

Parsha “Metzorah”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa”

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a look at parsha “Metzorah” (Leviticus chapters 14 and 15) — which to some extent is almost “Part 2” of the story of a ‘plague’ not seen for over a thousand years, although perhaps “more’s the pity.”

And for reasons that will continue that related theme from last week (Tazria, and the plague of “tzaraat” which is most certainly NOT what is called ‘leprosy,’ or Hansen’s Disease, this parsha is one of those that you “may have heard” is now irrelevant, “done-away-with”, and basically not worth studying — but for EXACTLY those reasons is probably more important now than ever, even if not for the reasons we’ve been lied to about.

This week, Mark looks at it from the opposite perspective, the ‘other half of the cycle’, if you will.

In the Erev Shabbat review, the study picks up with “this is, no SHALL BE, the <em>torah</em> of the ‘metzorah’,” or person who has ‘<em>tzaraat</em>’. What is to be done about it, and, yes, it can even infect a house.

In the Sabbath day teaching, Mark takes a look at something else the world has “turned upside down.”

It’s not merely that “evil” is being called ‘good’, and vice-versa; he suggests that what we are seeing run rampant in the world today is literally a ‘satanic (adversarial) imitation’ of a malady once intended by our Creator for our correction into an instrument of Evil:
not only to censor and suppress speech associated with Scripture and Truth, but to literally, turn His people into ‘social[ist] media outcasts’…and worse.

This is yet another portion that thus touches the heart of so very much that is wrong today, and why. How very much like our Creator to show via His Word that the very things we’ve been lied to told are “done away with” by way of the “opposites” and devilish imitations that have replaced them.

In a world that has become “unclean, unclean!” — those who speak His Truth are being shamed and shunned:

Parsha “Tazria”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa”

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a look at parsha “Tazria” (Leviticus chapters 12 and 13).

And for reasons that will hopefully ending up BEING clear, this parsha is one of those that you “may have heard” is now irrelevant, “done-away-with”, and basically not worth studying — but for EXACTLY those reasons is probably more important now than ever, even if not for the reasons we’ve been lied to about.

In the Erev Shabbat review of what that means, the story begins with childbirth, some “not politically-correct” instruction that admittedly can’t be done here in “exile,” and then a litany of what looks like medical text information – but isn’t.

And – in this case, since it’s SO relevant – the recording includes a news summary that helps make that same point, even if “in reverse”.
