Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a look at parsha “Acharei Mot” (Leviticus chapters 16 through 18)
The Erev Shabbat review begins with what happens acharei mot – ‘after the death’ of Aaron’s two sons, and includes the storied reference to the ‘two goats’ associated with the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur, and continues through an outline of ‘prohibited sexual relationships’ and other practices for which the inhabitants of The Land were “vomited out”. The Sabbath Day teaching explores the implications, and the haftorah (Ezekiel chapter 22) and related Scriptures. And again Mark draws some connections which a paganized world and its ‘whore churches’ not only ignore, but deny:
“Acharei Mot: Two Goats – or, the’ Voice is Yakov but Hands are Esau’s’ “
