Parsha “Nitzavim” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

This parsha, Nitzavim (Deuteronomy 29:10-30:20) is short, not quite even two chapters, but exceptionally concise, and contains what Mark suggests is one of the best “two-word summaries” of His Torah in the Bible: “Choose LIFE!”

This parsha is also one of the best ‘proof texts’ to debunk some of THE biggest lies in human history:
“the ‘Law’ has been done away with…” and “nailed to the cross.” And “NOBODY could POSSIBLY, EVER, keep THE LAW” (except, maybe, ‘another jesus whom we have not preached.’)

When it comes to things that are, TRULY, a matter of “life and death,” Mark doesn’t pull any punches.

While there are many second – and third – witnesses in Scripture to the fact, as well as the ‘how,’ and the ‘why,’ that His Word has been twisted for so many centuries to deny the Truth that the Messiah never changed His own Written Word — much less did away with any even tiny part of it! — this parsha is singularly undeniable.

Parsha “Ki Tavo” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

The parsha begins with a description of the offering of Bikkurim, or “First Fruits,” and continues with specific curses for things done in secret, culminating with the second of two powerful statements in the Torah of the “blessings and cursings.”

And there is a notable symmetry to blessings, and the first of the cursings, which are essentially mirror images. But that is where the pattern appears to end, because the curses for rebellion to Him then continue, and go on, and on, and on. Which may explain why there is a decided tendency in ‘xtianity’ to pretend they were “done away with” anyway,

There is another interesting aspect to the presentation of both blessings and cursings in the Bible as well. Perhaps the most famous outline of blessings in the Book comes from the very first recorded public address by the Messiah, generally known as the ‘Sermon on the Mount,” from Matthew chapter 5, which begins with what are often called the “Beatitudes.”

In the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark points out that, just as is the pattern in Scripture that the blessings come first, Yahushua begins His ministry the same way, outlining blessings.

The curses, as He repeatedly outlines, are for explicit failure to ‘not serve Yahuah with joy…”
…almost like they have to be EARNED.

And can there be any doubt, by now, that they HAVE been?

There are a lot of ‘mitzvot’ in here. More interestingly, though, are just how many are downright “not PC” in a world prefers calling “evil,” good, to reading His Word, as Written.

Which is why understanding, and the admonition to “study, to show yourself approved…” is more vital now than ever.

The Sabbath Day teaching starts by asking a critical question: Just what does the fact that SO much of His Word is NOT ‘politically correct’ tell us? And is it therefore any wonder that a world so willfully ignorant is such a fetid stinking mess?

Parsha “Shoftim” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

“Shoftim,” are judges. And they are to be appointed, says the text, before the commandment that “Justice, JUSTICE, you shall pursue…”

And again THAT is followed by more prohibitions on idolatry and that which characterizes it, emphasizing not only how Yahuah hates idolatry, but how severe the consequences are.

Which in turn points to the warnings – yet again! – about false prophets, and how they can be identified.

The Sabbath Day teaching picks up on those themes. Deuteronomy 13 describes outright false prophets, and the prohibitions on service false gods. In this parsha, it becomes clear that the sanctions include those who prophesy “presumptively,” and say He said things He did not, among similar provocations.

And guess what? Today’s false prophets fit that bill on multiple fronts.

Parsha “Re-eh” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for parsha Re’eh, Deuteronomy/Debarim 11:26-16:17, and more of the final address that Moshe spoke to ALL of the sons of Israel during the last month of his life.

This parsha contains the first of the vital references to the CHOICE that human beings with free will were given, between blessing and cursing, and ultimately life and death.

Again it emphasizes not only how Yahuah hates idolatry, and certainly how blunt Scripture can be about it (Deuteronomy 7:25-26), but provides us some tests that we can use to separate liars and false prophets from the real, and in fact, tests that He has set up for US, as well. And yet again, the consistent themes about listening – hearing and observing to DO – what He requires of us – abound.

The Sabbath Day teaching is another one of those that will either inspire people to come OUT of the ‘whore church,’ and face the fact that we “have inherited LIES from our fathers,” or offend those wedded to churchianity just as severely as Yahushua warned. The lessons about idolatry, and why we are commended NOT to study how those who were dispossessed worshiped THOSE false ‘elohim’ perhaps ESPECIALLY when they don’t acknowledge exactly what they are! – are so clear that they will shock those who finally see through the Deception.

For those that would like to hear a concise, specific, and even downright blunt, explanation of why BOTH the “whore church” and “whore synagogue” are still in exile, and why “another jesus” is not the messiah for either, save this one and pass it along to those who are willing to “study to show themselves approved.” There’s a reason that the Real Meshiach warned that not only is the path “narrow,” but “few there be that find it.” It’s not hidden; we’ve just been lied to about it.

Parsha “Pinchas” teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Parsha ‘Pinchas’ — aka ‘Phineas’ in some English Bibles — (Numbers 25:10 – 30:1) may be one of the most problematic stories in the Scripture. Here’s a guy who sees a sex act associated clearly with a fake, pagan god, being perpetrated right “before God and everybody” (Hmm. Kinda like what kids see on network TV, and in their public indoctrination centers…)

And he gets up and does something about it. Something that today might be called murder.

And Yah not only stops a plague in consequence, but gives the ‘perp’ His eternal “Covenant of Peace,” and the priesthood to go with it.

Today, you can talk about, teach, and DO similar things, and probably get an interview on CNN. But if you honestly talk about what Pinchas DID, and what the implications might be, you’ll probably be banned from Two-facedbook and Twitter, or worse.
