Parsha “Ki Tavo”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Ki Tavo,” (Deuteronomy 26:1 through 29:8),

The Erev Shabbat overview begins with ‘ki tavo,’ or “when you have come INTO THE LAND” that Yahuah gives to you…offer up first fruits, and that there is an important declaration to be made. It ends with one of the most vivid descriptions in Scripture of why the “lies we have inherited from our fathers” are so deadly.

This Sabbath Day teaching continues the sequence of ever-more NOT ‘politically-correct’ warnings, arguably BECAUSE the curses that we see coming to a climax of literally “Biblical Proportions” today are PRECISELY what was so strongly warned against!

It’s hard to honestly contemplate what ‘the world’ is doing, and has become, and then to read Deuteronomy chapters 28 and 29 and NOT see the connection. But Mark again asks some uncomfortable questions, and points out that there are things we can and SHOULD do “in such a time as this”. There IS a problem with ‘tolerance’ of Evil, and we must “not keep silent”.

Parsha “Ki Tetzi”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Ki Tetzi,” (Deuteronomy 21:10 through all of chapter 25), which AGAIN seems to literally exemplify so much of what is ABSOLUTELY WRONG with the western world today, especially because this is so politically INcorrect that it speaks volumes!

The Erev Shabbat overview starts with the concept of the “war bride,” and that’s just for starters…

SSM “Ki Tetzi” 2018

Alternative link via Hebrew Nation Radio:

For several weeks running now, the Sabbath Day teaching is arguably even more NOT ‘politically-correct’ than the week before. And this time, there needs to be an “adult content” warning as well, since the topics include marriage, sexuality, virginity, and a few things that will be even more offensive to a world which genuinely seems to HATE His Word, especially “as Written”.

From ‘transgenderism’ and ‘sodomy’ to the issue of multiple wives, there is plenty in Scripture that is so at odds with what men say He SHOULD have said if He was as smart as they think they are, it’s no wonder the world is such a mess.

The emphasis, however, MUST be on what is actually Written. What we have “heard it said” is NOT necessarily what He Wrote, for our blessing. So, be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11).

“Ki Tetzi: Fraud Covenant Marriage and Divorce, and the fact that all this is SO ‘NOT PC’ speaks volumes!”

Parsha “Shoftim”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Shoftim,” (Deuteronomy 16:18 through 21:9), which seems to literally encapsulate most of what is ABSOLUTELY WRONG with the western world today!

The Erev Shabbat overview of course begins with the commandment to select righteous (in other words, Torah-obedient) judges, or ‘shoftim’, to the end that “justice, JUSTICE!” you shall pursue.

Those who have been following what passes for “just-us” nowadays will recognize just how far we have fallen. And the rest of the parsha truly brings that home.

The Sabbath Day teaching is perhaps even more NOT ‘politically-correct’ than last week, to the extent that Mark demonstrates how the command in the last verse in the parsha, literally the one-line summary, is to “do what is RIGHT in the eyes of YHVH.”

Not only has ‘the world’ now gone beyond merely what the Book of Shoftim (Joshua) suggests is a Big Problem, “every man did that which was right in HIS OWN EYES,” but the opposite extreme now has become an overt attempt to “do that which is downright EVIL in the eyes of Him they so clearly hate!”

The title again lays out the premise:

“Shoftim: The Definition of PC is ‘do that which is Evil in His eyes!”

Parsha “Re’eh”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Re’eh,” (Deuteronomy 11:25 through 16:17), which he initially begins by introducing as the parsha which is front and center when it comes to “Debunking Bogus ‘xtianity’ “.

And the Erev Shabbat overview of course begins there, where Moses begins by say, paraphrased a bit, “Hey, check it out!” or, “Behold!,” or just “See…”
…I set before you a blessing, and a curse…

So choose.

But, perhaps more importantly, THIS is THE parsha that really nails WHY the ‘whore church’ has been so deceived by paganism.

Alternative link via HNR:

The Sabbath Day teaching will no doubt be one of the most “controversial” – even by Mark’s standard – in some time, because this parsha really DOES encapsulate so much of what the paganized, romanized, 501c(3) Caesar-licensed corporate ‘chuch’ of “another master” has come to preach: “another jesus, whom we have NOT preached…”

But the title lays out the premise.

“Re’eh: The Biggest Lie in the whole ‘Bible’ — well, sorta…”

Parsha “Ekev”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Ekev,” (Deuteronomy 7:12 through 11:25), where ‘because’ (the way the portion begins) really IS only the beginning of the story.

And the Erev Shabbat overview of course begins there, and follows the text, including still more insight into Moses’ continuing theme, “hear,” obey,” do, and LIVE:

SSM Ekev 2018

The Sabbath Day teaching starts with some understanding that the Hebrew words don’t necessarily mean exactly how they’re [mis]translated into English. A word like “shema/shemar”, for example, is actually even more than “hear and OBEY”, because that obedience is an INFORMED choice, if we ‘love Him’.

And how can we “love” Him, trust Him, even “obey Him” if we have not only ‘forgotten Him,’ but can’t even “hear” Him?

And on such “trivial” distinctions, civilizations fall.

Parsha “Vaetchanon”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Vaetchanon,” (Deuteronomy 3:23 through 7:11), arguably one of THE most “central” and fundamental teachings in the entire Torah.

The Erev Shabbat overview begins at “and I besought”, the opening words, “V’etchanan” through the warnings about idolatry, and not “adding to,” or “subtracting from” (still VERY popular with both exiled houses!) to the Ten Debarim (commandments, or sayings) and what is described by the Torah Made Flesh as THE most important commandment in Scripture. The main theme, however, is not just “hear,” but “obey,” and “DO!”:

Parsha “Debarim”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

The historic day of Tisha B’Av on the Hebrew Calendar is this week, so the Torah parsha should ‘traditionally’ be Debarim, the first in the Book by that same name, aka, Deuteronomy.

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of that parsha, “Devarim,” (Deuteronomy chapters 1 through chapter 3), where the narrative shifts from “and YHVH said to Moses,” to what Moses himself spoke in the last month of his life.

The Erev Shabbat overview begins with a recap of the journey of the B’nai Israel since their deliverance from Egypt, but largely takes the form of a ‘gentle rebuke.’

There is, of course, a lot more to the story. And in the Sabbath Day teaching, Mark takes a very different approach to that lecture than you may have heard before.

Perhaps even the title sounds a bit “nerdy” — but in this case, listeners will hopefully find the payoff sufficient to bear with Mark through a bit of setup…

Parsha “Matot”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Matot,” (Numbers 30:2 through chapter 32), including what turns out to be one of THE most relevant and important — and openly violated — commandments in the whole Book!

The Erev Shabbat overview, from the statute (or “chuk”) about VOWs, and what Mark describes as “covering” in marriage – to the story of the destruction of the Midianites and why all that first part really matters:

Warning: Adult Content, and NOT only NOT “Politically-Correct,” but downright offensive to those who love Lies More than Truth. The title speaks volumes…

The Sabbath Day teaching picks up the theme of Broken Vows, Lies, and False Witness…because it is hard to imagine a more timely parsha than one which warns against what AmeriKa-with-a-K now rubs in our faces. Picture a Swamp Crocodile smirking while lying through big, vicious teeth, and you have a good clue where Mark is heading.

Parsha “Pinchas”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Pinchas,” (Numbers 25:10 through 30:1), which includes one of the most “problematic” examples and rewards in the Torah. How can what might be described as murder be rewarded by Yahuah with a perpetual Covenant of Peace?

The Erev Shabbat overview describes the “rest of the story,” since the major action actually took place at the end of last week’s parsh, and then what might seem to be a variety of disjointed other bits and pieces, from a second ‘head count’ to a recap of His ‘moedim’ (appointed times and feasts).

SSM Pinchas 2018

Alternative link via Hebrew Nation Radio:

The Sabbath Day teaching explores what it means to be “zealous” for YHVH not only in a bit more depth, but in ‘context’ as well. Pinchas (Phineas) acted to save lives by making a public demonstration against those who — by their actions — acted in open defiance of Yahuah. But he was also “in the camp”, taking action to keep it clean.

If nothing else, Mark proves, while we are still in exile, the world we live in could hardly pass for a clean camp.

And it certainly shouldn’t surprise us that the portion is again SO relevant to the “times and seasons” today. It even has more to say about what constitutes “blasphemy” against His Ruach.

Parsha “Balak”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for this week’s teaching of “Balak,” (Numbers 22:2 through 25:11), where the undeniably apropos metaphor of “Balaam’s Ass” is only one memorable part of the Real Story.

The Erev Shabbat overview describes a Torah portion that is a significant departure from the “journey to the land narrative,” because it not only DOESN’T include the usual cast of characters, but is filled with ‘colorful metaphors’ that have SO much resonance that they have literally “molded” our language! (Even if we now seem to see some of the terminology as “tacky”. But the reason – even the pun – is right here!)

SSM “Balak” 2018

Alternative link via Hebrew Nation Radio for overview Erev Shabbat teaching:

The Sabbath Day teaching this week comes with another warning up front, this time because Mark is arguably even harder than usual – because the lesson of this parsha is! – on the ‘whore church’, and the paganism that now literally IS pervasive. When prominent politicians, pundits, and priests openly break oaths before a ‘god’ they either “know not,” or just plain lie about, and demonstrate “by their fruits” their utter contempt for His Word, we need to see the “coming battle” for what it is. And, yes, Mark uses some VERY strong language, because sometimes, blasphemy against His Ruach merits nothing less.
