“Vayikra”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a look what another of ‘those’ detailed, and therefore, often ignored (like so much of that “Old” Testament…) portions of Scripture; Parsha “Vayikra,” Leviticus/Vayikra chapters 1 through 5.) If anything, however, this whole BOOK may be among the most ignored in all of Scripture.

It’s also again true that not only is there much more to this one “than meets the eye,” but it’s part of the most divisive, and even “fought over” in His Word, too.

Starting with the Erev Shabbat overview…

The Sabbath Day teaching this week continues from there into a variety of related Scriptures, especially some of the Biggest Twistings from the letter to the ‘Hebrews’.

“Vayikra: Don’t confuse ‘korbon’ with “sacrifices,” any more than “rebellion” is the same as ‘unintentional sin’…”

“Vayakhel/Pekudei”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a discussion of the two-part ‘Double Parsha’ that wraps up the Book of Exodus. “Vayakhel, then Pekudei,” Exodus chapter 34 through the end of the Book).

What does a wise heart have to do with what much of xtianity calls a really boring part of Scripture that’s been “done away with” anyway? The answer goes to the very heart of what is wrong with a ‘church’ that denies His Word, yet claims He dwell in hard hearts that have no place for Him.

The Erev Shabbat overview of what exactly it is that the last part of Exodus describes being made, and why, introduces some perhaps uncomfortable parallels.

And the in-depth look at OPPOSITES on the Sabbath explores why that may be.

And in that respect, the Sabbath Day teaching this week is a literal OPPOSITE of the Erev Shabbat overview; sometimes, at the OPPOSITE part of the historical cycle, things are just plain inverted, or upside-down. And that describes the world today.

“Vayakhel/Pekudei: Making a place for YHVH – or the current opposite – eliminating ANY place for Him!”

“Ki Tasa”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a discussion of the parsha that might be described as one of the most “pivotal” in the whole Book — Parsha “Ki Tasa,” Exodus 30:11 through chapter 34).

Starting with the Erev Shabbat overview and a look at some of the amazing patterns in Torah that, arguably, ‘bracket’ some things for special emphasis…to the disaster of the ‘golden calf’.

The Sabbath Day teaching this week compares THAT “pivotal” failure in Biblical history with today, and the fact — demonstrated repeatedly — that we still make the very same mistake. Over and over again.

“Ki Tasa: Like it or not, we are STILL ‘without excuse’!”

“Tetzaveh”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a look what another of ‘those’ detailed, and therefore, often ignored (like so much of that “Old” Testament…) portions of Scripture; Parsha “Tetzaveh,” Exodus 27:20 – 30:10).

It’s also again a lead-pipe cinch that there’s much more to this one “than meets the eye”.

Starting with the Erev Shabbat overview and a look at, among other things, ‘clothing’.

The Sabbath Day teaching this week continues from there into a variety of related Scriptures, from the haftorah and readings from the prophets (a couple of Mark’s faves, he admits…) into Matthew 5, and the oh-so-common ‘twisting’ of the “Sermon on the Mount”. There’s a reason why the prophet Isaiah said that there will come a time (and it certainly applies NOW!) where “children are their oppressors,” and it gets worse from there.

“Terumah”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a look what SOME might call one of the most detailed, and therefore boring portions in the Torah. (they often lie, of course…) Parsha “Terumah,” Exodus 25:1 through 27:19).

It’s also a lead-pipe cinch that there’s much more to this one “than meets the eye”.

First, the Erev Shabbat overview — and some of the many reasons why:

The Sabbath Day teaching this week is a Whole Different Deal than usual, for that reason. Mark is generally wary of <em>over-spiritualizin'</em> the Bible; sometimes, however, we miss the point if we FAIL to see that there’s more than detail in the detail. Yes, he does sometimes get a bit “nerdy” – but in this case, maybe that’s the point.

“Terumah: and what the heck does Negative Half-Cycle have to do with a ‘Tabernacle’?”

“Mishpatim”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for a look at one of the most politically INcorrect (and thus vital, albeit among the “most twisted”) portions in the entire Torah: Parsha “Mishpatim,” Exodus chapters 21 through 24.

First, the Erev Shabbat overview …

The Sabbath Day teaching this week again continues the in-depth exploration of the major ‘themes’ in part of the Book of Exodus, from an understanding of the difference betweeen Hebrew ‘bondservice’ and the truly cruel bondage of “pagan slavery, to marriage, to literally ALL of the key elements of what once formed the basis of the “Common Law”.

More importantly, however, this parsha gives us a cogent synopsis of just WHY neither the “New World Order” nor the “New Age” are at all new, and why things are rapidly building to the only possible conclusion.

“Mishpatim: Welcome to Babylon!!!”

Warning: Adult content and language. YHVH does NOT “pull His punches,” or hide His Truth. Neither should we, even if ‘the world,’ and the Whore Church is offended by what He has Written for us. And Yahushua warned us that He would offend ‘many’…and worse.

“Yitro”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa another of those truly “pivotal” stories in all of human history, which begins with the arrival of Moses’ father-in-law, Yitro (not to be confused with Jethro Bodine) and includes the voice of YHVH from Mt. Sinai, and the giving of the “Ten Words/Sayings/Commandments” (Parsha “Yitro,” Exodus 18:1 through chapter 20)…
SOME of which, says the ‘church’ may still even apply today!

Warning: Adult content and language. Mark makes it clear that sometimes the truth must be blunt and unambiguous.  No punches pulled this week!

The Sabbath Day teaching this week again continues the in-depth exploration of those major ‘themes’ in the story of the Exodus, this time revolving around those “Ten Commandments” themselves, and what we can see has happened since the “law has been DONE AWAY WITH”.

“B’shalach”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the story of one of the most famous miracles in the whole Book — the parting of the “red sea” (or Sea of Reeds, take your pick). Perhaps more importantly, there’s a WHOLE lot more to this story, that begins at the end of the plagues, and really kicks off the genuine “exodus”. (Parsha “B’shalach,” Exodus 13:17 through chapter 17)

The Erev Shabbat overview …

SSM B’shalach 2018

The Sabbath Day teaching this week again continues the recent look at a few of the major ‘themes’ in the story of the Exodus, with a reprise of the concept of the “Minimum Necessary Miracle, and including the idea of “bookends” that might be playing out now, as we look toward the “Greater Exodus,” or Regathering, yet to come…

“Fear not, stand still, and SEE the Salvation of YHVH…”
…THEN pull up stakes, and get movin’.

“Bo”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the conclusion of the story of the ‘Ten Plagues’  (or 3 x 3 + 1) that begins the story of the Exodus. (Parsha “Bo,” Exodus 10:1 through 13:16)

These teachings are available live each week via Paltalk, in the “Walking Torah with Shabbat Shalom Mesa” room (interactively, via www.paltalk.com) and also simulcast at
http://cp3.shoutcheap.com:2199/start/lindcall/

The Erev Shabbat overview begins with the final two plagues in the “three sets”, locusts, and darkness which can “even be felt,” and culminates with the unique, separately-prophesied death of the firstborn. Oh, and there’s a pretty detailed description of the “prototype” — the first Pesach (“Passover”) — in there, too, even though much of churchianity prefers to ignore the part where He says, over and over even, to remember it, teach it, and keep it, “throughout your generations,” as a “chukat olam,” or statute forever.

SSM Bo 2018

The Sabbath Day teaching this week again examines in greater detail just a few of the major ‘themes’ in this parsha, from those final plagues to at least a few of the concepts in the haftorah (Jeremiah chapter 47)…
…to the somewhat fascinating idea of darkness which can even be felt. And if that sounds like something that may have more than just “metaphorical” significance today, you’ll enjoy this discussion.

“Vayeira”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa for the second parsha in the Book of Exodus, and the first in the famous story of the Ten Plagues. (Parsha “Shemot,” Exodus 6:2 through 9:35)

The Erev Shabbat overview not only tells the story, but points out how SO MUCH of what is contained in this portion literally “plants the seeds” — reverberates — throughout the rest of Scripture. And it has so much to teach us about “human nature,” but even more importantly, His as well.

SSM Vayeira 2018

The Sabbath Day teaching this week attempts to take one of the most information-packed and “theme-intense” stories in the Torah, and connect more than a few Disparate Dots.

Yes, we may be on the brink of seeing the “bookends” of this story play out. If there are plagues ahead, it’s important to at least have some clue as to what they may look like. Perhaps more importantly, what about “Free Will”? (Did Pharoah really have a choice about the role he played? Maybe that’s an “easy one,” but it leads to other more critical clues…)
